wheelchair lift for stairs is essentially very similar to a stairlift with
the addition of a platform as well as, or instead of, a fold-away seat.
The platform enables a person in a wheelchair to traverse the stairs without
having to move from the wheelchair to the stairlift.
As
a chairlift for stairs has to withstand the weight of the wheelchair, in
addition to a person’s weight, they do need to be more heavy duty.
Sufficient staircase width and clearance is also a requirement for a chairlift. |
